JP Rossi
JP Rossi thumbnail
JP Rossi Somptuous album, sometimes reminiscent of the Fripp/Jakszyk/Collins albuml "a scarcity of miracles", with a serious touch of David Sylvian and a particular nostalgy on top. The combination of electronics and acoustic sounds is perfect in this production, present as if you could touch the sounds. Emotionally impressive. Favorite track: Miracles on Trees.
Alan Ford

Alan Ford Wow... what an album, what a great find. Many thanks to Markus Reuter for clearing the path via his free download "Fool of Music". Favorite track: The Inner Voice.

Dann Chinn @ Misfit City
Dann Chinn @ Misfit City thumbnail
Dann Chinn @ Misfit City A luscious exploration of rich, delicate art-pop from centrozoon/King-Crimson-family producer Lee Fletcher, co-helmed by singer Lisa Fletcher and touch guitar star Markus Reuter. Feast on the sumptuous singing and orchestrations (from strings, synths and powdery brass to ukeles and uillean pipes) but don't miss the thoughtful songcraft at work underneath. Favorite track: The Number.

Is It me (or Is It You?) There’s a face in the corner looking inwards with unseeing eyes It knows that I’m watching, still the moment is uncompromised It looks just like people, but there’s something that’s missing to me A flicker or feeling to any degree Through the haze and the wire there’s a world that I don’t recognize Devoid of all meaning, unbuttoned, revealing, it’s burning my eyes The lives overheating, suffocating, unforgiving, it’s painful to see Such passion for freedom and brutality And was it all so very long ago? When I could endure the merry-go-round (around, around, around) But is it me or is it you? What goes around turns around There’s a face in the mirror staring outwards with all-seeing eyes It’s streaming the future, though the past has been compromised We pillage the living, ever seeking, kiss and telling morality Besieging all senses with apathy ℗ & © Lee Fletcher 2012

The Inner Voice If it’s all the same to you I think I’ll keep my self-respect I know it’s out of fashion, but I’ve never been in step And while we’re on the subject may I ask that you return The faith I lost along the way; the innocence that burned It’s funny what the people say; they just don’t have a clue That is if ‘funny’ is a eulogy to servitude Some say time heals and though it’s true there’ll always be a scar A dulling of sensation; a wishing upon faded stars But you did me a great favour, in a melancholic way The lesson learned and actioned for today Is to take heed of the inner voice, and serve that impulse well Have courage in conviction; break the shell I put my trust in you; I felt I really knew your kind And kindness blossomed from the weed-patch of your troubled mind But the pollen was infected, and the honey not so sweet With an aftertaste of folly and conceit The curtain fell; you took a bow and nursed your open wounds Pain self-inflicted, dressed with camouflage and partial truths It must take boundless energy to suffer so thus far I wish you well in solitude, but I don’t play with broken glass Yes you did me a great favour, in a melancholic way The lesson learned and actioned for today Is to take heed of the inner voice, and serve that impulse well Have courage in conviction; break the spell If it’s all the same to you I think I’ll keep my self-respect The pain got lost along the way; my innocence adjourned ℗ & © Lee Fletcher 2012

Faith in Worthless Things Empty station, early morning This old world is barely born Destination yet unknown Tickets blank and fate postponed There’s no better plan We’re bound by time, though here alone Many rivers run as one Faith in shiny worthless things Echoes of our future sins Steel is rolling, life prevails As daylight dreamers fan their sails Fuelled by crumbs that furnish nations Unified in isolation Children crying, mothers braying Fathers absent once again All at one with situation Circumstance breeds condemnation Of our fellow man We’re bound by time, though here alone Many rivers run as one Faith in hearts and violins Echoes of our future sins Dreaming of the perfect future Tall on tales, and short on truth Oh, to ride that other train To graze upon the green terrain Empty station, bathed in twilight Our weary world shrink-wrapped in hindsight Destination still unknown No cards to deal, no seeds are sewn Join the caravan We’re bound by time, though here alone Many rivers run as one Faith to heal the cracks within Praying for life’s worthless things ℗ & © Lee Fletcher 2012

A Life on Loan “Work your fingers to the bone For a workless life is lived in vain” All the busy people play the game Proceed to hell; do not pass ‘Go’ Marching up the hill all day Fetching pails of water for the crown Until the playtime whistle sounds And blows your hallowed dreams away “Work your fingers to the bone For a workless life is lived in vain” All the busy people play the game And settle for a life on loan ℗ & © Lee Fletcher 2012

The Number 03:15
The Number Hello, you’ve reached the number Of my secret voice And though I asked you not to call Your instinct made the choice Silence punctuates the air As you listen, I am speaking but not there You dial again Our senses harmonize Two distant hearts collide I knew you’d call I knew you’d love me Hello? Follow where my voice leads Stranger on the line I’ve known you always No distance great or small Can break the silence Hello, you’ve reached the number Of my heart and soul ℗ & © Lee Fletcher | Renée Stieger-Reuter 2012

Miracles on Trees Cheer for the snowfall; gather-in For the seasons are aligning Shedding Mother Nature’s silver skin Bringing balance to the timing Tears, ever flowing upstream Earth’s asunder With miracles on trees The spectre of our world beholding Years turn to seconds; life begins Chaos order is unwinding Placing trust in Mother Nature’s yin For the yang will seal the binding Tears, ever flowing upstream Earth’s asunder With miracles on trees The spectre of our world beholding ℗ & © Lee Fletcher 2012

Life's a Long Time Short I gave you life I wrote your melody Infused your heart with mine Our time is fleeting A love so true is truly painful A hurt that’s so divine At once the symptom and remedy There is no end All time descends The trick is not to care And as you grow I watch in rhapsody The miracle you are Inside I’m screaming A brand new day An old discovery Dressed down in pink or blue Same déjà vu tomorrow Until the end Our time descends Contention falls away Within your dreams you cannot hear me All your mistakes are mine Times past repeating You gave me life I wrote your testimony Infused my heart with yours Compulsive love and therapy There is an end Make all amends For life’s a long time short ℗ & © Lee Fletcher 2012
